Golden Places focuses on intergenerational relationships, memories, and making art collaboratively. Nummela has worked with her grandparents to make four unique works, each a place-centric representation of a grandparents’ fondest childhood memory.
2020 / Site-specific. Pyynikki, Tampere.

The climate crisis is placing a heavy burden on our planet. For a few hours in November of 2020, trees in the woods of Pyynikinharju in Tampere, Finland, were blemished with strips of red crafting paper, resembling gapping cuts. The red markings stood in harsh contrast against the forest greenery, connotating the destruction and pain we, as humans, have imposed on our environment.
2016 & 2020 / Sculpture, installation concept
Conceptual Cigarettes (2016) was made by combining birch logs and sculptural materials. These seeds won't grow is a conceptualisation that places the sculptures into the landscape of Pyynnikki, a nature conservation area. The artwork signified the unwanted merging of nature with litter - specifically cigarette butts.
2020 / Mural. Uusikaupunki.

Gentle Bloom is a commissioned full-wall mural of blooming tree branches. The painting draws influence from Japanese ink paintings and the country's beautiful hanami (花見) season.
2019 / Installation. Collaborative project.
